WOODEN AWARD COMMITTEE RELEASES MIDSEASON LIST OF THIRTY
The John R. Wooden Award committee announced their midseason list of 30 candidates for the 2001-2002 Wooden Award Player of the Year and All-American Team. Players who do not make this list are still eligible for consideration for the Wooden Award. Matt Bonner of Florida is the lone player on the midseason list who was not on the 50-man preseason list.
The ten player Wooden Award All-American Team will be announced on Tuesday, March 26, 2002. The Wooden Award winner will be selected on Sunday April 7, 2002 as the nation's "Most Outstanding Collegiate Basketball Player of the Year."
